POS Station Reader

The system supports the Comtrex Sprint series cash register, which is configured specifically for dining point-of-sale environments. This register has a 168-key spill-resistant keyboard with quick-change keyboard templates, and an 80-character display screen.

With a memory upgrade, theSprint series can store 2000 transactions (larger upgrades are available). Transactions stored offline will automatically upload when communication is reestablished. The card data, transaction amount, register number, transaction number, and date and time number are stored and sent to the host system.

The Comtrex Sprint POS terminals can be used for the following transaction types:

• Meal plan
• Campus debit or credit transactions.
• Debit and credit plan balance inquiries.
• Check verification.
• Cash transaction logging.
• Activities access approval.
• Ticketing.
• General validation for employment or enrollment status, payment of fees, or any set of database parameters.
• Time and Attendance
• Bank card services (e.g. Visa and Master Card).
